Learn About Our Missions

Initiatives taken by the organization in support of the Millennium Development Goals / Sustainable Development Goals: Before 2014, GADYLP has been observing the World Environment Day on June 5th each year referring to Millennium Development Goal (MDG) 7. With the introduction of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, GADYLP switched over to SDG 13 and others in continuation of its track records over the years on mitigating the effect of Climate Change. In collaboration with Awuwo Odofin Local Government Area, GADYLP has trained youth in tree planting and has planted and nurtured over 11,000 Trees. In addition to Goal 13 GADYLP has made some marks on Goal 4 : Education and Youth. Just last year that is June 2023 GADYLP in collaboration with a sister ECOSOC Status NGO United Nations of Youth Network Nigeria (UNOY ) facilitated a Side Event in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change which took place in June 5 to 15 2023 in Bonn Germany .Moreover GADYLP in collaboration with UNOY presented a Side Event and ran an Exibition Booth in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change otherwise known as COP28 in Dubai UAE December 2023. These activities on Climate Change support UNOY and GADYLP track records on SDG 13 which is Climate Change. Furthermore , GADYLP ,UNOY and Odimegwu OBI Foundation for Youth on Integrity and Justice ( OFYIJ) partnered last year ( September 21 to 22 ) 2023 to mark United Nations International Day for Peace in GADYLP corporate Office at Egbeda Lagos. Part of the activities of the Day was organizing essay competitions and Debates for Young People on the following topics thus : Peace and Conflict Resolution , Human Rights , Corruption ,Criminal Justice , Elections and Electoral practices etc. These topics belongs to SDG 16 which revolves around Peace , Justice and Strong Institution.Hence it is right to say with certainty that UNOY and GADYLP have enough capacity for SDG 16.
